I am Alejandro Jeronimo Azamar. A usual alias I use is Zama, which doesn't have a deep meaning; it is just a shortened version of my last name.

Education

I began studying Software Engineering in 2022. Beyond my formal education, I completed a semester-long Ruby on Rails Web Developer bootcamp in 2023.

How did I start?

I started this journey thinking, "The career name sounds so cool, complex, and meaningful—I really want to study this!" Coming from a technical accounting background, I barely knew how to turn on a machine. My first college assignment was to "Make a game with the PyGame framework based on an SDG."

How is it going?

I often pass hours researching things I already know, thinking, "Maybe I am doing it wrong?" or "I should double-check this..." This curiosity leads me to deepen my knowledge, learn new things, and bring out the best in my work.

Projects (Most Recent)

Most of these projects were for my college coursework, but I loved working on all of them. I never worked with the same team twice, which made the experience fulfilling and helped me develop the soft skills necessary for this field.

University Repository

A centralized web/mobile app where students can manage their projects (active, finished, or in-progress) and professors can oversee them using an RBAC security methodology. I was in charge of the backend (API), architecture design, and database management.

Android SPA Mobile Application

A mobile app for regional spas allowing establishments to register their menus and users to schedule appointments. It supported real-time calendars and map visualization. I acted as a full-stack developer, designing views, backend logic, and cloud database management.

Web Forum Using Custom PHP Framework

The goal was to create a custom Framework for our personal use instead of starting from scratch. We built a forum where users can manage posts and admins can oversee content. Using the software management, best practices, and methodologies I learned in my bootcamp, I led my team through the entire process.

Skills

Here are the skills I am most proud of, gathered throughout my education and beyond. I am confident I can solve any problem you give me with these tools.

Technologies

Linux

My most precious skill. It opened a new world to me and forged many of my current principles. I learned by installing different distros, managing servers, and writing scripts. It remains one of my favorite hobbies.

Git

During my bootcamp, I met many people proficient in Git. I was so impressed and inspired that I forced myself to make it one of my most robust skills.

Documentation

I constantly study the best ways to document software. I believe strong documentation allows anyone to understand a project without needing to dive too deeply into the code.

Languages

Spanish

My native language. Even so, I sometimes struggle to communicate simple ideas!

English

B2 level (Cambridge Assessment). I struggle with pronunciation, but I believe my reading comprehension is near C1.
